Biography

The two halves of that record ask for opposite things. A softcore set is slow: the body holds a pose, the light does the work, and the performance sits in the shoulders and the eyeline. A hardcore scene is the reverse, closer, faster, built on the physical exchange rather than the arrangement of limbs. Moving between them is a skill, and it is the skill of a model rather than a contract player: she was never a studio name with a release schedule, but a body that travelled, shot, and appeared under whichever name the distributor preferred that month.

What remains is a specific look that the 2000s produced and then dropped. The long blonde or red hair, the blue eyes, the fullness the listings describe without apology, the pubic hair left as it is. That look has come back around, though not because anyone planned it. It came back because the alternative, the identical high-gloss body, stopped being interesting.
